Enjoy Free Movies in Brooklyn Bridge Park With Manhattan as a Backdrop
Now in its 12th year, the Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy has teamed with the Syfy cable channel and renamed the outdoor film series Syfy Movies With A View, which begins July 7, and runs each Thursday through September 1, at Pier 1, in Brooklyn Bridge Park.
Each evening begins with pre-movie music at 6:00 p.m., and films begin at sundown. Here is the July film schedule:
July 7: Manhattan
Woody Allen’s black and white wonderland of Gershwin music, Central Park carriages, museums, and dinner parties. Short film: Tugs.
July 14: Ghostbusters
The 1980s, Bill Murray, slime, and a giant marshmallow man. Need we say more? Short film: Das Racist “What’s That? Brooown!”
July 21: Sweet Smell of Success
Burt Lancaster is an influential newspaper columnist and Tony Curtis tries to stay on his good side. Short film: Keith Reynolds Can’t Make It Tonight.
July 28: Basquiat
Jean-Michel Basquiat transforms New York City into his own personal canvas. Short film: Susie’s Ghost.
